Dr. Nimet A. Adam is a board certified Clinical Audiologist and the President of Hearing Partners of South Florida, Inc. Dr. Adam has 21 years of experience in the industry. Dr. Adam graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Florida. She is a member of the American Speech-Language Hearing Association. She has worked as an Industrial Audiologist at the Workers Compensation Board of British Columbia, and in clinical and administrative positions at a South Florida Rehabilitation Hospital.

She has lectured extensively in community venues and was chair for the Health Board of Florida. She can discuss her experiences with major hearing aid manufacturers like Oticon, Phonak, Lyric, GN Resound, Widex, Starkey, and Unitron their products, their reputation in the marketplace and new technologies. Dr. Adam can provide insights for the baby boomer generation, market growth opportunities, geriatric issues, pediatric concerns, special need requirements and the future of digital and wireless communication.

Her practice specializes in diagnostics and management of hearing loss, tinnitus and balance. Dr. Adam is dedicated to the health and wellness of the community. She was an adjunct professor at Florida Atlantic University. Dr. Adam offers educational seminars for physicians and patients and is a trusted hearing healthcare specialist.

Dr. Lloyd Maliner, Neurosurgeon

Dr. Maliner obtained his B.S. in Physics from Union College in Schenectady, NY in 1986 and his M.D. from the University of South Florida College of Medicine in Tampa, FL in 1990. He then did a surgical internship at the Medical College of Hampton Roads in Norfolk, VA; and started his Neurosurgery training and research at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He completed his Neurosurgery residency from 1992 to 1998 at the Hershey Medical Center of the Penn State University in Hershey, PA.

Dr. Maliner practiced in Winter Haven, Florida for four years before returning to his hometown of South Florida in 2002, where he now practices with offices in Coral Springs, Plantation, and Pembroke Pines.

Dr. Maliner is well known throughout Broward County. He believes in taking time to listen to his patients and provide them with excellent care both in and out of the operating room. Dr. Maliner is particularly proud of his minimally invasive microsurgical techniques that allow for shorter hospital stays and quicker recoveries. He hopes to serve his community for many years, as did his father, who has been in practice in South Florida for over 40 years.

Karen L. Rowe, AP, DOM is an Acupuncture Physician with a practice in East Fort Lauderdale. She has been practicing Acupuncture since 2001 and received her Masters Degree in Oriental Medicine from the East West College of Natural Health in Sarasota.

Karen's practice specialties include pain management, immune disorders and anti-aging medicine. She uses traditional acupuncture, Chinese herbs, homeopathy and nutrition to restore her clients health. Along with practicing acupuncture, she is also a certified Kundalini Yoga instructor and she shares many of these powerful healing techniques with her patients as well.

In her many years of practice, she has seen hundreds of patients restore their health naturally through her acupuncture practice.

His interests are the primary care of dementia patients, the development of improved outpatient and home health geriatric services, and the geriatric education of physical therapists and certified nurse assistants.

Received his Doctor of Medicine at the University in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.

Dr. Ventre is Board Certified in Psychiatry and Neurology and is a Diplomate of the American Board Of Psychiatry and Neurology. Presently he is the Vice Chief Of Psychiatry at University Hospital and University Pavillion Hospital in Tamarac and is the Owner/ Psychiatrist of Ventre Medical Associates in Oakland Park.

Dr. Ventre did his Residency at Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York - Psychiatry Program and also at the University of Florida at Gainesville. He has also been the Principal Investigator for Behavioral Clinical Research and was the Psychiatrist for Compass Health System in Miami.

The 17th Circuit welcomed Claudette Vanni as its newest General Magistrate, covering the Probate division. She began her new position on Monday, July 23, 2012 and brings a considerable amount of experience with her.

For more than 10 years she has worked in the area of public interest law. Magistrate Vanni was a senior attorney at the Guardian ad Litern program, and most recently worked as a senior trial lawyer at the Office of the Attorney General/Children's Legal Services.

Magistrate Vanni received her law degree from Nova Southeastern, where she graduated with honors, and received her undergraduate degree from Saint Leo University, graduating summa cum laude.

Bonnie PetrieAbout Bonnie:

Bonnie Petrie, LCSW, is the geriatric assessment coordinator at Broward Health Imperial Point (BHIP) where she provides assistance to seniors living in the community. Bonnie also provides education to professionals working in the field of geriatrics. She runs a monthly caregiver support group and co-facilitates BHIP's chronic condition support group.

Bonnie obtained her master's in social work from Florida Atlantic University in 2006 and has been working for Broward Health since. Her concentration during graduate school was geriatrics and she has remained passionate about helping this population since.

Bonnie has been featured in the Sun-Sentinel regarding the Imperial Care Management program and for starting the pet therapy program at BHIP. She is passionate about the role animals can play in our emotional and physical well-being. In 2010 she obtained certification in Equine assisted psychotherapy and is the proud owner of Rock Star, a ten year old quarter horse.

Betty Rosse, a former Public Education Coordinator for Broward County Elderly and Veterans Services in the department of Behavioral Health Substance Abuse, has had an immeasurable impact on the lives of thousands of seniors. Providing insight on how to think differently, Betty's spirited presentations referred to as "411 on Aging" were offered through a series of 16 educational topics. She has presented to more than 200 plus senior living communities, senior centers, service and faith based organizations, associations, agencies and professionals. A published writer, Betty's articles can be found in the 55+ magazine. Her unbridled passion to create awareness of local resources and services for seniors is demonstrated through her continued collaboration with individuals in both the public and private sectors.

About Commissioner Martin David Kiar:

Martin David Kiar is the Broward County Commissioner for District 1. District 1 encompasses parts of Davie, Weston, Sunrise, Plantation, Lauderhill and Tamarac. As a lifetime resident of Broward County, Commissioner Kiar is committed to maintaining our unique way of life for all residents and future generations.

Commissioner Kiar earned his Bachelor of Arts degree at Palm Beach Atlantic University in 1999 and his Juris Doctorate at Nova Southeastern University in 2002.

Previously, Commissioner Kiar had the privilege of serving Broward County in the Florida House of Representatives. Commissioner Kiar was first elected to the Florida House in 2006, and was reelected in 2008 and again in 2010. In 2012, Commissioner Kiar was elected to serve as the Broward County Commissioner for District 1. Commissioner Kiar was the first person in Broward County's history to win an open (no incumbent running) Broward County Commission seat unopposed. Commissioner Kiar is also one of the youngest Broward County Commissioners to ever serve in that capacity.

Commissioner Kiar lives in Davie with his wife Kelly, his daughters Brianne and Camryn, and his puppy, Cooper
